His Excellency Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Suhail Al Maktoum, Secretary General of the United Arab Emirates Sports Federation for School and University Education Institutions, congratulated the Department of Education and Knowledge on the launch of the third session of the Abu Dhabi School and University Sports Championship. This edition sees the participation of 403 public and private schools, along with 18 universities, competing across 10 individual and 3 group games. Notably, a record-breaking 26,000 male and female students are competing in the tournament. Ali Misri Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of the Federation, emphasized the significance of sports and extracurricular activities in the educational process. He highlighted the Sports Federation for School Education Institutions' commitment to implementing the wise leadership’s policy and strategy for school and university sports. This involves managing, developing, and advancing sports activity in the country, with full cooperation with the Department of Education and Knowledge, the Emirates Education Foundation, and the sports councils and federations. The collective aim is to provide a distinctive educational and sports environment, discover sports talent, and foster strong competition in sports at regional, continental, and international levels. Moreover, it aims to provide opportunities for all male and female students to engage in sports that match their interests and passions. Al Dhaheri commended the collaborative efforts of all parties involved in sports within schools and universities. Their unified approach aims to catalyze a sports breakthrough in the educational sector, enabling it to make a meaningful difference.
